Launched Kolapedia — Sharing What I Learned

Just now, I launched Kolapedia https://kolapedia.com, a site to connect developers by their values.

It’s first made for companies, but what you see here is a profile of a developer ( Yep, that’s me) willingly to be put in the front page.

I tried to sell this things with ads, or even subscription model.

First finding the companies. I share with my friends who own a team and are looking to hire develoepers. But things don’t walk fast enough for me. I don’t see that they eager to sign up. I tried to handpicked some HR from a group chat that share some job opportunity. I tried to talk, cold email them. But the response rate is under my expectation, so I decided to changed a bit Kolapedia to show profile of developers instead.

I posted on Indie Hackers, Hacker News. Both didn’t give me meaningful tractions.

I told my developer friends, and they didn’t show any interest at all. I even tried to ask them to sign up, I would help them on board. Yet, their answers were still “no”s.

I didn’t do any marketings like hitting the blogs because I started to see that this product is not market validated.

It doesn’t mean I will also let this stuff go. Probably it doesn’t get the momentum yet, and I am thinking to give other ideas the opportunity.

So here’s my log. Let’s see what other ideas bring me to.
